We had a really fun time the team explained and made announcements on when our session started and ended. We were notified and aware of how our session was going to go by staffing. There was a problem with the hot chocolate machine at both concession stands which was promptly fixed and the ladies working the stand was very nice and very apologetic about the hot chocolate machine malfunction but again the situation was fixed very promptly. Will visit again.

We enjoyed ourselves very much. Only issue was it was hard to locate the check in areas as well as the hot chocolate beverage area. With so many people walking around, it would have been helpful to see enlarged high mounted signs describing the different stations. Overall very fun. Will do it again

This December we enjoyed the bumper cars and ice skating on a Monday evening. It was a fun outing. We also experienced Santa and his team rappel down a skyscraper. Such magical memories!

2Home field of the Cincinnati Reds with concessions, a Hall of Fame museum & a panoramic eatery.

Completely built anew and opened in 2003 to replace the erstwhile home of the Cincinnati Reds at the Cinergy Field, the Great American Ball Park is the place to come and watch Major League Baseball in the Queen City. Located just on the edge of Nuxhall Way in honour of the late MLB broadcaster Joe Nuxhall, the site has some curious architectural features. There are the Power Stacks, which are supposed to mimic the look of the steamboats that would once drift up the Ohio River from Mississippi, along with a series of mosaics dedicated to the glory years of Cincinnati baseball.

The Great American Ball Park is one of Downtown Cincinnati’s major sports arenas and home to the Cincinnati Reds baseball team. The open-air stadium, which also hosts music concerts by American and international artists, has a seating capacity for over forty thousand spectators, several game fields and various concessionary restaurants and bars. The Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame Museum is located at the ballpark and displays in-depth information about more than eighty honored inductees plus exhibitions of memorabilia dating from the late 19th century,.

If you’re looking for an exciting and unforgettable event to attend when in town then you can’t beat watching a baseball game at the Great American Ball Park. Set just south of the center, the state-of-the-art stadium lies on the banks of the Ohio River within easy walking distance of many of the city’s main tourist attractions. Opened in 2003, the large ballpark is home to the Cincinnati Reds—the first professional baseball franchise to be founded in the States in 1881.

A visit to Cincinnati is not complete without taking in an iconic Reds Baseball game at the Great American Ball Park in the heart of downtown. Check the website for information about special promotional days like Thirsty Thursday, Fireworks Fridays, Super Saturdays and Family Sundays. Plan to spend a couple hours before or after the game visiting the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame & Museum, located onsite.

You’ll pass the Great American Ball Park, the retro-charm of Carol Ann’s Carousel and the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center. Architecture lovers should cross the river into Covington via the John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge. It was the longest bridge of its kind in the world when it was built in 1867, until it was surpassed by Roebling’s more famous creation, New York’s Brooklyn Bridge, in 1883.

Baseball fans will be happy to stop by the Great American Ball Park, and Cincinnati Reds fans will be absolutely elated. Situated by the Ohio River in downtown Cincinnati, this stadium combines the nostalgia and architecture of 20th-century ballparks with comfortable modern facilities. If there’s one thing that most Cincinnatians can agree on, it’s their love of baseball. The Cincinnati Reds were the USA’s first professional baseball team and were originally known as the Cincinnati Red Stockings. Great American Ballpark replaced the former Cinergy Field on 31 March 2003.

My Daughter and Son-in-law had their wedding reception here. The staff could not have been any more accommodating. My parents are elderly and the staff assists with transportation to the event and back. Wheelchairs were provided at no charge. The facility was exceptionally clean and professionally maintained. Hats off to the hard-working custodial staff and especially the event staff.

This stadium is a love letter to baseball and baseball in Cincinnati. Lots of opportunities for fans to interact, especially families with young children. They even have a playground on the grounds. The $25 all you can eat pass is a pretty good deal if you don’t mind that the hot dogs are not Kahn’s. There is a candy shop. Bars. Many things to list. Don’t let the futility of the team dissuade you from coming here. It’s a really great place to soak in the atmosphere of baseball.

Love this stadium! I’m a Reds/Royals fan, & we’ve been driving up for the last several years! The atmosphere is amazing! The Hall of Fame is a must! Here’s a few of my pics! …Put #14 in Cooperstown! #HeStillBangs

3Aquarium featuring a jellyfish room, walk-through tunnels & exhibits housing penguins, rays & more.

Located just across the bridge in Newport, KY the award willing aquarium has a lot to offer including 60+ exhibits, multiple touch tanks, play areas and even a rope bridge that crosses over top the shark tank. We most enjoyed the various touch tanks where we got up close to starfish, stingrays, horseshoe crabs, anemones and cleaner shrimp. Another highlight was the octopus which was extremely active, moving all around the tank and treating us to quite a show.

The Newport Aquarium, voted as the top aquarium in the United States, is actually located in Newport, Kentucky across the Ohio River, not in Cincinnati. It still makes the list of best things to do in Cincinnati with kids because you can actually walk there from downtown Cincinnati!. Older kids can get a kick from walking across the river on the Newport Southbank Bridge (or the Purple People Bridge to locals).

Cincinnati is far from the ocean, but Newport Aquarium provides visitors an opportunity to view the underwater world. Shark lovers are fascinated by several exhibits: a shark tunnel where sharks swim over your head, Shark Central where visitors pet small sharks and the Shark Bridge which traverses the top of the shark tank. Newport Aquarium is also home to four rare Shark Rays.

Newport Aquarium is located across the Ohio River, just south of downtown Cincinnati. Highlights of the aquarium include dive shows, the Tide Pool touching area, and Frog Bog where you can both see interesting frogs and burn off some energy in the play area. Brave visitors can touch a shark or cross the Shark Bridge (a rope bridge that crosses over the giant shark tank).

This local gem offers lots of wonderful promotions throughout the year. From Jan. 6-March 1, get one free child admission with each adult admission during Winter Family Days!. Check Newport Aquarium’s website and Facebook page throughout the year; last year, they offered free admission for First Responders, Educators and Veterans during the year!

This is the Newport Aquarium, and it’s so gigantic that it houses thousands of sea creatures in millions of gallons of water. It’s definitely one of the coolest things to see in Cincinnati!. If you like marine life, the Newport Aquarium will delight you in more ways than one.

Cross the Ohio River into Kentucky for a visit to the Newport Aquarium. The aquarium is located in the popular entertainment area, Newport on the Levee. Discover an undersea paradise as you walk through underwater tunnels, touch a sting-ray, and watch the playful penguins.

Explore the Newport Aquarium (about two hours ought to do it), but if you’re really crunched for time, then stick to the shopping and dining options that the Levee has to offer – plus the awesome views of the river and Cincinnati skyline. Sawyer Point & Yeatman’s Cove

The Newport Aquarium was voted the #1 Aquarium in the Midwest!. Spend a few hours gazing at the world’s underwater life. Make sure you leave time to watch the penguins put on a show at Penguin Palooza and then walk the world’s first and only Shark Bridge.

For a truly unique photo, consider taking one with Santa while he’s scuba diving. You can remain dry while Santa swims inside the Newport Aquarium. Special previews of Scuba Santa are available to members.

Find yourself face-to-face with thousands of aquatic species from around the world at this popular aquarium just across the river from Cincinnati.

This place is sweet. Tons of things to see here. The have fish from all over the world with great descriptive plaques. Lots of neat things they have done with the displays. They have aquariums with little indentations that you can stick your head into. They have glass floors so you can see underneath. They have tunnels where you can see the fish all around you. Pretty great spot to go for a day trip. A little crowded and I wish they would require people to wear masks. You don’t have to wear one if you’ve been vaccinated but nobody is checking so come prepared with a good mask of you’re concerned about COVID. Sweet place though. I highly recommend a visit.

We had a great time. Very interactive with animals, which was great for children. Also activities for children. The place was clean. The staff was very pleasant. Answering questions the children had about animals. We ended our vacation here at the last minute. We were going to the zoo but changed our minds. I’m so glad we did.

We came from Indiana to check out Newport aquarium and we loved it! The white alligator was awesome! We also loved all the turtles and it was really clean! There were soooooo many people WITHOUT a mask on. I thought for sure it said online or on a sign that you needed to wear a mask. Either way we were wearing them to protect ourselves and good thing we did! We saw 1 other family with masks on. The employees all had masks but not customers. We really did enjoy our time though! It was worth the money we paid and there were tons of awesome animals there!

What a gorgeous casino! The crystal chandeliers are absolutely breathtaking.. They currently have a collection on display from different artist! We had a great time playing some black jack, slots and having a few drinks. We had some delicious pizza, conversation with strangers and walked out with more money then when we walked in. If you haven’t yet check the casino… I definitely think it’s worth checking out now that it’s a Hard Rock cafe. We were only disappointed with one bartender in the back bar area.. he was rude and assuming.. but he didn’t mess up our good time! Would recommend and definitely plan on checking it out.

We started coming here about 2 months ago and their promotions are amazing. I’ve had $15 a free slot machine money to play on once a week for the last 2 months and then for March is promotion I get $10 off at any food then you there each week.

We visited for the first time since they changed over to Hard Rock on NYE. Great restyle. The floorplan is much more logical. Wonderful selection of new eating choices. Easily twice as many than when it was Jack”s. The employees were all very friendly and eager to assist in any needs that arose. Memorabilia collection is very interesting as well. Grant’s Birthplace State Memorial
It is the original birthplace that has been moved and is now back on it’s original foundation. It’s a small house that originally was only one room. The tour guide for the home was very informative and knowledgeable. I would recommend the stop for anybody interested in American history.

This is a great place to experience a bit of the flavour of life in the era when grant was born and gives an idea of his early life. Of course, the actual house and museum are not open that much, but with a modest reading of history and done well placed information boards that are up, you can fill in many of the blanks. This is even a good drive around tour where if you do not wish to get it of the car, you can still experience the era and the history of the place of not only one of our greatest generals, but a good president as well.

Wasn’t open when we visited. We could still enjoy the story of the house and being at the spot where Grant was born. A worthwhile trip. OH-232, Moscow, OH 45153, USA

We had a wonderful visit. It was Christmas glitters, lights, music and Santa all over the place. Lightening was at its best. Carefully lovingly kept wild and aquatic life. Most beautiful experience was that of zoo train and the musical fountains. Clean restrooms and warm refreshment areas. Excellent!

We decided to take a family trip to visit Fiona that my wife and daughter have been following on social media. This zoo was so clean and well taken care of. The staff was polite and courteous and the animals looked so happy in their well maintained enclosures. Well worth the trip!

Well maintained, lots of different animals to see, well laid out park, restaurants in the park to get something to eat and I plan on returning. Love it. Parking is a mess. Do not take the last turn google suggests. You’ll end up on a dead end street. Google takes you to the exit end of a Parking lot to the zoo. There isn’t an entrance there. Jungle Jim’s International Market
We regularly visit this business for unique groceries and fresh meat/fish. They have an unbelievable selection of cuisine from around the world. An extraordinary wine and beer selection also. My kids love to visit the candy section as they can always find something that catches their eye. They recently expanded and now have knives and other cooking utensils. We will be visiting again soon.

An awesome experience! This store is incredibly expansive, with a huge selection of items from all around the world, including the US. They have fun decorations, and I always feel that the prices are reasonable. They also have a massive hot sauce section, complete with a fire truck. Definitely a spot to check out if you’re in the area.

Amazing place for groceries and a wonderful place to discover international groceries. This was the highlight of my Cincinnati trip. Please wear comfortable shoes, there will be a lot of walking. We spent a total of 3 hours in here! Dixie Hwy, Fairfield, OH 45014, USA

8I’ve made the west to east side trek over here a few times, and always enjoyed it. We hike the many excellent trails and enjoy that they are uncrowded. When you do run into someone else, they are quite friendly. If we lived closer we would certainly have a membership. The Cincy Nature Center is a fantastic, serene getaway from everyday life. Highly recommend!

It was a short and fun experience of knowing how maple syrup is made. Guide’s were awesome with all explanations The place also offers short walk trails.

It’s a beautiful location, the park is very well marked and clean… visitor center has very nice and respectful people who are willing to help with anything u need. Didn’t walk on all the trails but covered a good amount Tealtown Rd, Milford, OH 45150, USA

9Large amusement & water park with a wave pool, roller coasters & a lifelike dinosaur exhibit & more.

I’ve been to Kings Island several since I was young. I have always enjoyed it. There is literally a small community here of restaurants, shops and novelties. The rides are exceptional. They have even seemed to add a few new ones since my last visit. Their seasonal celebrations keep things fresh through the year. The family looks forward to their Halloween haunt and winter fest in the off season. We decided to get the gold pass this year considering it’s their 50th anniversary. So far we are not disappointed. A large section of the park dedicated to the younger kids will help us get our money’s worth. Especially with summer coming up we are really looking forward to the water park.

I love Kings Island. This park has always been fun, but, over the last fifteen years or so, it has been transformed into a first class place. So many great coasters, including some, like Orion, Diamondback, Mystic Timbers, and Banshee, that are the best anywhere, along with classics like The Beast and The Racer, and a ton of smaller yet still fun rides, like The Bat, one of the last Arrow swinging coasters, and the Arrow mine train, Adventure Express. Combine this great coaster collection with an impressive selection of flat rides, excellent staff and operations, exclusive merchandise, local food, top notch cleanliness, a great kids area, and so many fun celebrations like Haunt and Winterfest, and you have a park that’s easy to get to and easy to spend the whole day. Go there, run back to Orion for your first ride of the day (and jump back on if you can) and leave time for the train and the antique cars and a trip to the top of the Eiffel Tower. Plus save room for blue ice cream!

Absolutely impressive!! I’m blown away by what a beautiful park this is. I’ve been to all the major parks around the country and this is in the top 3. There’s something for everyone, all ages and food galore. Fright Fest is amazing, decorated top-notch. The passes are a super good deal and includes parking which saves you $25 bucks! They also aid the disabled with more than reasonable accommodations. Kings Island Dr, Mason, OH 45040, USA

10Tropical-themed water park with white sand & palm trees, slides, rides, play areas & an arcade.

This is the best waterpark I’ve ever been to plz open it back up I especially love the big red slide

Went there two to three times. The grandkids and I loved it a great place for the family to have fun together.

It was nice. We went today, on a nice cool Wednesday. Not busy at all. Price was great. Food was priced well. The employees were nice. The pools did have some debris but there are lots of trees for shade so it’s understandable the wind would blow leaves into the pool as quickly as they were cleaning them. I would give it a higher rating but they don’t have any pads or tampons for women in the bathrooms. Water Park Dr, Mason, OH 45040, USA

11Smith Park Cmas Light display is A+! The only price = requested charity donation placed in a box at entrance. Many new and unusual displays. No burned out lights. Areas in route where car can pull over and enjoy the show. (Stay in vehicle) In my opinion much better than Pyramid Hill display. Enjoy!

It was a little wait to get into the park, but once we got in the lights were beautiful.

Brought my daughter for a playground picnic during unseasonably warm Christmas break! It was the 1st time I’ve visited as an adult and forgot how nice the park is overall. They have nice playground equipment and being that close to the airport was fun! Tytus Ave, Middletown, OH 45042, USA

12We did the kidnapping room and had so much fun. The room and clues were so smart and so well played together. There was a group of 8 of us and we all were able to partake without feeling unneeded or that there were too many people in the room. Our game master, Ryan, was great and so fun to work with. Highly recommend Breakout Games and we will definitely be back to try out the other rooms!

It was an amazing and fun experience. I took my girlfriend out to escape from one of the rooms and we managed to do it with the two of us. It was challenging, thrilling and fun all at the same time. I recommend everyone to give it a try. The experience was even better thanks to our game master Ryan. He was able to help us when we were stuck but not give the answers away. Thank you guys for the great night!

i had my birthday at breakout games and it was an amazing experience like always. our game master was Megan and we loved working with her! she was able to give us hint and clues without taking out the fun of finding things out on our own. we did museum heist and i was very impressed by the different ways to solve clues, aka not everything was opening a pad lock. i love the diversity of the workers at break out games and the environment that they make. definitely want to work here when i am old enough!! Washington Village Dr, Dayton, OH 45458, USA

13A great way to spend the day with family! $23 for admission but there are tons of shows and activities to keep you busy for the day. Lots of different food options available as well as beer. Parking is $3 so be sure to bring some cash.

This was an overall good experience. I went with friends and being there with them made it awesome. Thinking objectively about the festival itself, though, I don’t think it was worth the ticket price. It’s marketed as a permanent village, which to me made it seem like there would be good, well-made structures there when in reality, much of it looks like thin pieces of old wood nailed together to make ramshackle buildings. Colors are faded on flags and tapestries. The benches are warped and have green things growing on them. The paths are gravel. Shouldn’t it be packed dirt? There wasn’t gravel back then. There was a lot less period-accurate things happening than I expected. For one, there were loud speakers and microphones used, which I was disappointed by. Shows talked big but did little—passionate people without the talent to back it up. Songs were present-day and sung badly over and over. One woman used a terrible British accent as entertainment. The energy from some was still good and helped make the shows, but I’d say it’s probably more kid-level than an adult would enjoy, yet some of the jokes made aren’t great for kids so there’s an imbalance there. But kids wouldn’t notice the poor performances as well. The food and drinks are over-priced but that’s to be expected at such an event. I thought it was weird that you could buy pizza and Whiteclaw at a Renaissance festival; this was my first time going and I expected it to be more period-accurate. I did see turkey legs and a sign for mead, but I think the mead was just beer. It was hard to book it over to shows we wanted to see, too. A bit of a confusing layout and the times weren’t conducive to being able to see one show and then another right after in time. Like the jousting only lasted like minutes, so if you were coming from something else, you miss it before you can even arrive. :/ Kids’ rides were super expensive—$4/ride on a rickety-looking old wooden slide? No! ???? On the other hand, the kettle corn was really good and only $3 for a small, but it was huge! The best value of the whole place. And some people who attended had really beautiful costumes and makeup. That wasn’t thanks to the actual festival or ticket money spent, but it was cool to see.

Such a fun place and lots to do and see. I definitely recommend bringing plenty of cash for food and parking and for the games. Great food and always love watching the joust. Get there early to avoid crowds and traffic! OH-73, Waynesville, OH 45068, USA acre park featuring transportation exhibits, 25 historical buildings & costumed interpreters.

Why To Choose Air Force Museum: For Air Force couples, this may be a meaningful destination. Why Not To Choose Air Force Museum: It is very dark inside, and there is no natural light.

This is the largest and oldest military aviation museum in the US. It has over 360 aircraft & exhibits an interesting gallery called Presidential Gallery.

With 4 hangers full of over 100 aircraft you are sure to find the one for that perfect Instagram picture.

This place has an incredible amount of information and exhibits. They have free tours that guide you through the history of aviation, presidential planes pre-1970, quite a few real planes and many more items. It was not busy when we arrived and it wasn’t busy when we left. They have a cafe on site (Valkyrie cafe) and although I didn’t eat there, it seemed like a basic place to grab a quick bite. My four year old kids enjoyed it. We will likely be back when they get a bit older. The staff was incredibly nice. Overall a very pleasant experience.

The exhibits are great. I have visited twice before and would come back again to see the exhibits. The parking lot has two electric chargers with four parking spots. The charging is slower than my home charger but is at a decent charging rate of about 30 miles per hour. The food court is expensive. Cost about $50 for one adult and two kids for food and drinks. Most ridiculous is that there is NO water station anywhere in the museum. I understood that water fountains are not safe in this pandemic. However, at least the museum should put water bottle fill stations. Other than staying thirsty, your only option is to visit the cafe and pay $2.75 for a bottle of water. In the cafe, there is NO plastic recycling for the plastic package and the water bottles. As a public institution, the museum should do better on recycling.

This is hands down one of my favorite museums. I’ve been 4-5 times now and love bringing friends and family for their first time. The staff is fantastic and the tours are incredible. You could spend all day here and learn so much. It would be hard to fit everything into one day if you do all the tours. They are free and 100% worth it. Spaatz St, Dayton, OH 45433, USA

Charleston Falls Preserve
County park with forest & prairie, hiking trails, a nature boardwalk & a picturesque waterfall.

Charleston Falls Preserve is the most visited park in Miami County, featuring 216-acre park of prairies and forests. The park has an observation deck for the Falls and the Wildlife Pond, a viewing platform for the prairie, and picnicking areas throughout, making it convenient and enjoyable for casual visitors and families, too.

Spending some time in nature is always a good idea so don’t forget to put Charleston Fall Preserve on your list of the best things to do in Dayton, Ohio. You’ll get to enjoy pleasant hiking trails, breath fresh air, hear the birds singing and of course get to see the waterfalls. The trails are not very difficult so everybody can visit the area regardless of the fitness level.

Just north of Dayton, Charleston Falls Preserve has more than 216 acres of forest and prairie land. Its most unusual feature is the waterfall after which it’s named. The falls originate from small underground springs located to the east and drop 37 feet into the Great Miami River, which you can view from the falls observation boardwalk.

Why To Choose Charleston Falls: The largest waterfall in the Dayton area. Why Not To Choose Charleston Falls: It is a 1/2 mile walk to the falls.

Charleston Falls has been coming up a lot as a must see hike and waterfall on Pinterest. I’ve been waiting for a decent amount of rainfall before I went and I was not disappointed. Although it wasn’t a torrent of water coming over the falls, it was a decent amount. I wasn’t expecting anything other than the waterfall but the trails are wide and mostly gravel. A few trails are part mowed grass and well maintained. The viewing areas of the waterfall is the lower part accessed by stairs. The other viewing area is actually observation areas along the main trail to the falls. I would enjoy coming back and hike some more of the trails.

This is a must-go-to park! Lots of trails, pet friendly, mostly stroller friendly, and definitely kid friendly trails. Nothing too extreme. Waterfall is beautiful when not in a dry season. Plenty of wildlife to be seen, little creeks for the kids or pups to splash in. If you are nearby, it’s worth checking out!

An absolutely gem for a great day hike. One of the best I’ve done this fall. 2+ miles of good elevation. Plenty of parking, gravel trail for easy navigation, and views for days. If you have an hour+ to kill, this is a must! Ross Rd, Tipp City, OH 45371, USA

17Ice cream shop, cheese store, restaurant & entertainment venue with miniature golf & batting cages.

Young’s is a working dairy farm with a famous ice-cream shop (aka the Dairy Store, which many say whips ups Ohio’s best milkshakes) and lots of fun family activities, including mini-golf, batting cages and opportunities to feed goats and watch the cows get milked (the latter happens from 4:30pm to 5:30pm). The golf and batting cages have a fee, the animal viewings do not. The Golden Jersey Inn restaurant is also on-site.

An excellent place to get a sweet treat after a long day! The buckeye milkshake is so good and well worth the price. I am also very impressed with the new building. You can now hold events there at a modest price, such as corporate get togethers and birthday parties. I’m glad Young’s is still in business. It’s brought back memories of getting ice cream with grandpa after bike rides.

The milkshakes we got were great!! We had cheeseburgers and cheese curds and they were both good. A little pricey $38 for 2 drinks, 2 milkshakes, 2 cheese curds and 2 cheesburgers. We got to see super cute animals!!! The baby goats were so soft and adorable!

Visited here several years ago and thought the restaurant part was quite rundown. Was pleased to see they have redone the restaurant and it is really really nice. Very nice and clean restrooms. Quite a few indoor tables even for groups. Little gift shop inside with various decor and gifts and a plethora of food items – cheese curds, etc. We ate lunch – you order at counter and they give you a beeper to pick up your food from the counter. You can order from your table as well using a QR code. We fed the goats – can buy food outside for a quarter. Went into barn – cows, goats, pig that you could pet. Also pumpkins and gourds to purchase outside. Reasonably priced. Went putt putt golfing with a group – course was well maintained and fun. Ice cream is great and homemade there. Super fun time! Clifton Gorge State Nature Preserve
Limestone & dolomite gorges offering varied hiking paths, some with wooden walkways & lookouts.

Free parking with 30 spaces? Deep gorge with a swift stream coursing over the rocks. Outlook points peeking over the gorge offer great views. There are placards on overlook decks describing bits of history. Multiple trail choices. Well maintained with sturdy railings and steps. There was even a waterfall with huge icicles! Very nice way to spend an afternoon.

Wow ???? this is a scenic nature preserve. There’s a lot to see here. I brought my niece and nephew ( age 2 and 4) and they were in awe with the trickling waterfall, limestone gorge, butterflies, wild vegetation and small snakes. About halfway through the trail, I mildly regretted not having a child carrier because they got really tired. The toddler fell asleep and we back tracked to the parking lot. I quickly learned how rocky the trail is and the variety of elevations I had missed in the beginning ???? So here are some things I jotted down for a better visit next time. And I’ll share it with you in case you plan on checking this place out with kids 🙂 – There are 2 parking lots next to each other. (The lots are about a mile away from each other) One has a bathroom and the other does not. – Wear grip shoes or boots. Bring a hiking child carrier. The trail is rocky and muddy. – No strollers and pet. The trail is narrow. – Photograph trail map. The markers can easily be missed and there is no data connection. This place is a gem and fun to explore. If you haven’t been able to nomad through Hocking hills or just want a place with less foot traffic, this is the place. I like it ????????

We love hiking here and seeing the beauty of this area, which is not too far from our home. We have been here in the Summer, Fall, and in the freezing cold of Winter and it’s been beautiful every time! There are easy areas and more difficult trails to hike also. We were able to do both this time as we are in better shape now than when we went last year! It such a nice hike because it was not too crowded as we went on a Friday afternoon, and not a Saturday. It’s close to Yellow Springs, so after hiking it’s nice to go there and grab a bite to eat or a drink! We went to Ole Ye Tavern in downtown Yellow Springs and had their pizza and beer. It was delicious! Enjoy! OH-343, Yellow Springs, OH 45387, USA Frank Lloyd Wright’s Westcott House
This restored, prairie-style house designed by famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright is now a museum.

Had a great visit! we were lucky to get there in time for a tour. The lady ( so sorry I forgot her name!) was very informative and a great story teller. The restoration work is amazing!

Just out for a ride and discovered this place by accident. Definitely buy tickets in advance. Unable to take the tour but will go back. Home has bee. Totally restored.

Nice tour of this FLW prairie style home built in the first decade of the 1900s. It has a garage rather than a carriage house. Mr. Westcott was developing a Westcott automobile, which never apparently happened after Mrs. Westcott passed away. He also was a mayor of Springfield. Our guide John G., a Springfield native was very good, and the gift shop was amazing, maybe the best I’ve been in of the FLW sites I’ve toured.

It was a bigger museum than I expected and curated well. The inside layout is a bit confusing but you can see a lot. You get a lot of hope for good items when you first walk in and see the Van Gogh and Monet right away, but that was about it. There was a small Rodin Thinker as well. All in all, a good time, and worth a visit if you are in the area

The Toledo Museum of Art has so much to offer for engagement and wedding photo locations! I much prefer the outdoor locations so I do not impede on museum-goer experiences, but they are so good you won’t even miss the indoor spots! There are marble columns for some classic and regal-looking photos and then there are pathways surrounded by unique art. My favorite spot is this cool metal building/wall. Rainy or bad weather? The Glass Pavilion is a very cool spot right across the street.

Went to see the traveling Age of Armor exhibit that is currently on display. It was wonderfully laid out with an available audio tour. How ever long you think you’ll be there, add time. There’s much to see. Monroe St, Toledo, OH 43620, USA

We had so much fun when we took our kids and nephew to Imagination Station. I am so pleased that they have the option to purchase a membership because that is exactly what we are going to do. They even had a quiet room in the children’a area if anyone was overstimulated and needed a break. There is food, beverages, a gift shop, indoor & outdoor activities so much to do indoors and even a beautiful view from the inside out. Fun for all ages! 🙂

So fun for kids tiddler to elementary school! The toddler area is fantastic and all the exhibits are educational and fun! Keeps their minds working without them even knowing! And I highly recommend the 3D theater. So cool and with 20 minute run times, even little ones don’t get to antsy!

I haven’t visited this place in many years. There were a lot of cool stations that engage the kiddos in learning about the world around them ans how things work. My only recommendation would be to pack some snacks. The food choices were slim. Not sure if the pandemic and supply shortages is to blame for that or not?

The National Museum of the Great Lakes is a local museum in the Toledo Maritime Center along the Maumee River.

This is a excellent museum with great information and displays. For someone visiting the Great Lakes for the first time, this was a great primer and perfect for a few hours. The models of historical ships, boiler steam propulsion and Coast Guard history were all highlights.

The interactive displays were engaging and fun for kids of all ages. Some of the displays left me wanting more backstory and the intro video, although beautifully presented, could be so much more. I look forward to returning in the summer to tour the Schoomacher.

Really neat place! This is something in my own hometown that I had never experienced before. Such a unique spot to be taken. The museum had lots of interesting bits of history and getting to go on the actual boats was so awesome. Probably not a place for huge parties or small kids because it’s a lot of historical things and small areas inside. The stairs are also a little bit difficult to maneuver but seeing how old everything is I definitely understand why. Everyone should visit here at least once in their life. 23Unpretentious rooms inside a lively water park offering a restaurant/bar, a pool & a gym.

I went just over this week for one day. The staff was very friendly, made sure that everything was just right and answered all of my questions that I had. For the ticket price, it was amazing. For less then $100, I was able to take my family on a nice day trip to the water park. As for the actual water park, it was very clean, and very kid friendly. For older kids, it might get boring a little quick, but it was great for my family. I loved our time that we spent there and I highly recommend!

Great for a birthday party! Park is clean and well staffed. Slides are fun; water is warm & crystal clear. Food is delicious but pizza is comparable to Little Caesar’s hot & ready. Go early for best seating and locker rental. Wonderful for a family outing no one will forget.

Pretty great!! Their water park is super fun, and everyone is nice! Food isn’t that great, but there are a lot of restaurants around. The water slide are great, and the lazy river is so fun!! I came here with some younger cousins (ages 1-4) and they had a blast! There’s something there for everyone!! Great place, and super fun for a get away weekend, or party with friends!

24Retail mainstay stocking a huge inventory of hunting, fishing & camping supplies, plus boats & ATVs.

Absolutely huge store with everything you could want when exploring the outdoors. The prices seem reasonable and you can find discounted items inside. Aside from all the items for sale there is a mini-mountain in the center of the store decorated with animals and a waterfall. Another big attraction is the giant statue out front of two bears fighting.

Awesome sporting goods store and far better than Bass Pro Shop! So much to see and do in including an aquarium and animal exabits. Everything you’d need whether it be hunting, home defence, coats, and just about everything else Cabela’s has it! Very easy to get lost it’s such a huge store! Fun to just walk around and look and at everything!

Beautiful store with so many stuffed animals on display. Huge selection of everything outdoors, camping, fishing, camouflage, clothing. Prices are in line with this type of store-expensive. Bit then I was only there to browse, there wasn’t anything I needed or wanted.

Magee Marsh Wildlife Area
Amazing place to bird watch!! We went the day after the biggest week was over and was expecting the place to be packed, but it was actually quite nice with a lot of devoted birders there who were very helpful and identifying bird species if you weren’t sure what they were. Can’t wait to go back!.

Fun walk any day of the year. Friendly staff. Bring your camera and enjoy the marsh along with a walk along the shore of Lake Erie. *Note: Magee Marsh boardwalk to be closed until Spring 2022 due to storm damage. … Magee Marsh’s road and parking lots have been cleared of debris from the August storm, according to ODNR.Sep 15, The hour or so I spent here before our trip home was just amazing!!! We saw a family of Swans, mother, father, and about 6 babies!!! Red winged black birds. Heron birds. This was also the first time I saw a real Marsh area!!! So much wildlife here! And a PERFECT place for bird watchers!!! There are Bald American Eagles here. There were warning signs to stay clear of their nests! I was in Awe of this beautiful part of Ohio. And, its in my state!!! This place is great for families with children and it had wheelchair parking to get on the beach to Spectacular views of Lake Erie. We will definitely be back. It was clean and not at all crowded.

I can’t recommend this company enough they were outstanding! Captain Jerry went above and beyond to make sure that we were on fish. His boat was clean and well organized and he treated us like kings. If you are looking for a great walleye fishing experience you will want to definitely book with these guys

Lake just turned over and fishing was tough all over the lake. Capt. Tomcat was still able to put us on fish! He was knowledgeable, friendly and provided a great time! Communication with Capt. Bob Witt was great, he was honest and fair. Lodging was comfortable and price is reasonable. Booking again next year with Capt. Tomcat. N Russell Rd, Oak Harbor, OH 43449, USA

River Raisin National Battlefield Park
National park preserving the historical site of pivotal battles during the War of 1812.

River Raisin is for those who love history. This is the site of the worst American defeat in the War of 1812, and of the bloodiest battle in Michigan’s history. There is a new visitor center just west of the battlefield with new exhibits being built. If you live in southeastern Michigan and you have kids, this would be a great place to take them to get to know the National Park Service. The visitor center has passport books, patches, books about national parks, nature guides, and everything else needed to generate a child’s enthusiasm for our nation’s protected lands.

I am really looking forward to the things to come at this National Battlefield Historic Site. The Park Ranger was extremely informative and did a great job with the kids and their Junior Ranger Program. The movie was worth the 10.00 for 4+ in a family. We enjoyed learning about the War of 1812. Beautiful diorama. When the village is complete it will be amazing.

The park stretches out along the Raisin River. They have an older closed visitor center and a new one not far away. Great place to reflect and relax. Some picnic tables and some really nice benches to rest on

333 N Dixie Hwy, Monroe, MI 48162, USA William C. Sterling State Park
Lake Erie’s only state park offers 1 mile of lakeshore with campsites plus wildlife walks & hiking.

Don’t let the smoke stacks cloud your judgment of this park. It has so much to offer! Miles of scenic trails for birdwatching, running, walking and biking. The trails I hear will be getting some much needed work to ensure a safe and smooth trek. There are many fishing piers and access points to kayak the waters in and around the park. For Boat Nerds, you can watch great lake freighters out on the horizon. If you’re lucky, you may see them pulling into the River Raisin just south of the park. The sunrises and sunsets are gorgeous and beautiful and the pops of color are amazing. If I have on complaint, it’s the human factor on the Beach. Please don’t litter. There are many garbage receptacles. We can do better.

This state campground has some full hook up sites. Campground is clean and the camp host was receptive when we told here there was standing water by our water spigot possibly indicating a leak. It’s nice to be able to explore the beach on Lake Erie but wear your shoes as there are dead fish, shells, branches, and garbage. There is a paved, 4 mile trail which circles some lagoons.

Not the biggest beach, but there is plenty of parking and a big swimming area. Ample grills to cook if you want to make a day of it. There is also a fishing area, boat launch, campground and trails, if you enjoy any of those activities. If you are in the area and want to get back to nature, definitely give it a shot. State Park Rd, Monroe, MI 48162, USA Amherstburg Navy Yard National Historic Site of Canada
Points of Interest & Landmarks

This was our first time coming to amherstburgs Christmas parade and they didn’t disappoint! What a beautiful village they have set up to walk through! If your looking for some.oretry lights and displays it doesn’t disappoint!!

My husband and I spent quite a few happy hours in this park last week. We had come to Amherstburg for a week and every day walked in the park, both during the day, early evening and after dinner. It is a completely smoke-free Park with multiple paved walking trails through it There are quite a few historical plaques about the former naval yard and the War of 1812; as well as a beautiful Monument. There are two gardens there, one is a rhododendron garden and the other a hosta garden with at least 50 varieties of Hosta. It is very well lit for a nighttime stroll, has quite a few park benches and sports a westbound view of Boblo Island and some spectacular sunsets.

In the summer, grab some ice cream at the nearby ice cream shop, and take a nice walk in the park. Lots of shade, or sun with ample seating. Watch boats, sunsets, whatever you like here. In the winter, the light fest is nice to go thru. It’s a nice little park locals know all too well.
