When Do The Markets Start?
There’s not long to wait until the festivities hit the city of Edinburgh once again on Saturday 19th November 2022! You’ll have plenty of time to browse the many stalls, find some special gifts for your loved ones and taste some festive delicacies yourself. Don’t forget to grab a mulled wine!

Opening Times
The opening times for this year’s Edinburgh Christmas market have yet to be released, but we imagine they will be similar to last years, which was 10am to 10pm daily. The times are sometimes revised on certain days, so it’s best to double check online before you head down there.

Where Are The Edinburgh Christmas Markets?
Step into Edinburgh’s wonderful Christmas market at East Princes Street Gardens and West Princes Street Gardens as the festive event is taking over the city! Plus, you’ll find Santa’s Grotto on Castle Street, the perfect opportunity for your little ones to meet the man himself. We’ve also heard there will be a surprise or 2 on the Royal Mile.

Hotels Near The Christmas Markets
We have a great selection of hotels near the Christmas markets including:

* Brooks Hotel. This hotel is just a 25 minute walk to the Christmas markets, and with afternoon tea and a bottle of wine included with your stay, you’ll have everything you need for the ultimate festive break!
* On The Walk Hotel. You’ll be just a short 20 minute walk from the Christmas markets at this hotel. Plus, you’ll be treated to a box of chocolates and prosecco on arrival, sounds like a great Christmas market break to us!

Stalls For 2022
There’s a wide range of stalls to browse at Edinburgh Christmas market including food stalls such as Melted by The Pitt Market, Churros Baby Edinburgh, Screaming Peacock and Cold Town Beer. Plus, there will be plenty of retail stalls selling you handmade and homemade Christmas gifts, ornaments and decorations galore!

Parking Nearby
There is no event parking or parking nearby for Edinburgh Christmas market unfortunately. It’s recommended that you travel by train to Edinburgh Waverley, Edinburgh’s central train station, as it’s just a 2 minute walk from here. You can easily get here from various locations in Scotland and the UK.

Ice Skating
Set to be one of the biggest attractions of Edinburgh’s Christmas market again this year, is the ice rink on George Street! You’ll glide along a wavy track right down the middle of George Street as you’re surrounded by twinkling Christmas lights. There’s also a rink side platform offering drinks and hot food for spectators to enjoy whilst they watch the skaters. You’ll get to spend 45 minutes on the ice, and prices range from £9.50 to £13, or you can get a family of 4 in for £24!

What Rides Will Be There?
If you’re a bit of a thrillseeker, then we’re sure you’ll be desperate to know what rides will be at the market, and we’re here to tell you! You can expect:

Tickets
You don’t need to worry about getting tickets for Edinburgh Christmas market as it’s a completely free event! However, you may be required to wait in a queue before you enter if it’s particularly busy. You will need tickets if you want to do ice skating or go on the big wheel, but these can be purchased on the day.
